MHPSS Research Project Hiring

We are currently looking for two (2) Research Assistants to support the implementation of the research project titled:

“Holistic MHPSS Framework for Disaster Responders: Integrating Spirituality into Crisis Mental Health Care in District 3, Batangas Province.”

This project focuses on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for disaster responders, addressing the psychological, social, and emotional challenges experienced during emergency response operations. Through community-based research in District 3, Batangas Province, the study aims to contribute to the development of a holistic crisis mental health care framework integrating psychological, social, and spiritual dimensions of support for disaster response personnel.

This is a research project headed by De La Salle University – Evelyn D. Ang Institute of Biomedical Engineering & Health Technologies, in cooperation with Kasama sa Kaayusan, Kaunlaran, at Kaginhawaan ni San Isidro Labrador, Inc., and funded by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD).

Project Duration: 18 Months (Phase 1) May 2026 – October 2027
Project Site: District 3, Batangas Province
Project Extension Office: Kasaka Resiliency Center, Cuenca, Batangas
Project Main Office: DLSU EDA-IBEHT, Biñan, Laguna
Salary: SG 13 (Php 43,350.00/month)


Available Positions

1. Research Assistant (Registered Psychometrician)

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Psychometrician (RPm) with valid PRC license
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field
  • Experience in psychological assessment and standardized test administration
  • Familiarity with mental health screening tools and psychological research instruments
  • Knowledge in research data collection, documentation, and ethical research practices
  • Ability to administer and score psychological assessments under supervision
  • Experience in community-based or field research is an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Forms, and data management tools
  • Knowledge in academic research writing and preparation of research documentation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to travel and participate in field data collection activities

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of psychological assessments and screening tools
  • Support participant recruitment, scheduling, and coordination
  • Conduct data collection following approved research protocols
  • Perform data encoding, test scoring, and data organization
  • Assist in literature review and research documentation
  • Contribute to the writing of academic research papers and technical reports
  • Ensure proper handling and confidentiality of research data
  • Provide support during fieldwork and project implementation activities

2. Research Assistant (Registered Social Worker)

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with valid PRC license
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work
  • Experience in community engagement, outreach programs, or social services
  • Background in community-based research or development programs is an advantage
  • Skilled in facilitating interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and community consultations
  • Familiarity with ethical standards in research and community engagement
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and documentation skills
  • Proficient in report writing and data recording
  • Knowledge in academic research writing and documentation
  • Willing to conduct field visits and community-based research activities

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with community stakeholders, organizations, and research participants
  • Assist in participant recruitment and scheduling of research activities
  • Conduct interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), and community data gathering
  • Document field observations and research proceedings
  • Assist in data organization, transcription, and report preparation
  • Contribute to the writing of academic research papers and project reports
  • Ensure ethical engagement and protection of research participants
  • Provide logistical support during fieldwork and community research implementation

General Qualifications (Applicable to Both Positions)

  • Strong knowledge in academic research writing and preparation of research manuscripts
  • Ability to assist in literature review, data documentation, and technical report writing
  • Experience in qualitative and/or quantitative research methods is an advantage
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team
