2023 Accomplishment Report

Chairman’s Message

A path was trailblazed when the Ministry on Social Services of the Parish and Archdiocesan Shrine of San Isidro Labrador aimed to help more people through the help of the Lipa Archdiocesan Social Action Commission, Inc. and the generous people of Cuenca, Batangas. The ministry accepted the challenge of embracing even more the poor and the needy as the necessities called for it in 2020 when the Taal Volcano erupted and the COVID-19 pandemic struck. From being a passive ministry waiting for the activities from the archdiocese, we courageously cleared the trailblazed path to an even clearer path – a vision for the mission of the Church of, for, and by the poor. Since then, we have seen how the ministry flourished through the guidance of a great lover of the poor, San Isidro Labrador.

The years 2021 and 2022 seem to be very challenging as we prove our mission to have a clear vision despite the many challenges we have to face to reach the peripheries. The term “Kasaka” has been known little by little in the Municipality of Cuenca and the different parishes, a term that gives our vision and mission – being with San Isidro in helping the poor and tilling the soil to bear fruit. We have started a vision of a more active ministry in helping the poor, and we aspire to reach out to more people with even more “kasaka” to help us in this mission.

This year, we institutionalized the ministry as a recognized non-government organization, a new beginning where we heed the Synod’s call to enlarge the space of our tent. As we embark on a more fruitful journey, the Kasaka ni San Isidro Labrador will strive more to reach the peripheries. With gratitude, we thank all those who supported and will support our mission because, without you, we can never be fruitful enough to help the least, the lost, and the last.
