Through the Philippine Red Cross Batangas Chapter Lipa Branch, the Kasaka ni San Isidro labrador, Inc., as part of its Capacity Building Program, Health and Safety promotion, and Disaster Preparedness and Response Program, held a Basic First Aid and Disaster Response Training to 32 participants last October 28, 2023. The training was attended by the members of the Parish Ministry for the Youth and Parish ministry on Social Services of the Parish and Archdiocesan Shrine of San Isidro Labrador, St. Isidore Catholic School, Cuenca Institute, San Isidro Labrador Parish (San Luis, Batangas), and Invencion dela Sta. Cruz Parish (Alitagtag, Batangas).
The 1-day training program is designed to equip the participants of the basic knowledge on first aid which will help them in responding to the needs of the parishioners during mass and other parish activities. In the same manner, discussed in the training were the different types of disasters and tips on how to mitigate its impact to the community including the hazard mapping in the participants’ respective areas. This training workshop was given by Mr. Arvin Aguilera of Red Cross Lipa Branch.
